What Is a Good Schulte Table Time? Benchmarks From 10,560 Players
On our 5×5 Schulte Table, the typical player's best time is 26.4 seconds. Finishing in under 20 seconds puts you ahead of about 79% of players, and under 15 seconds puts you in the top 5%.
These numbers come from 10,560 players of our Schulte Table between March and October 2026. Each player counts once, with their best time.
Schulte Table time percentiles (5×5)
The time is how long it takes to tap 1 to 25 in order. Each wrong tap adds 2 seconds.
| Percentile | Best time | What it means |
|---|---|---|
| Top 1% | 11.6 s | Exceptional |
| Top 5% | 15.1 s | Very fast |
| Top 10% | 17.1 s | Fast |
| Top 25% | 20.8 s | Above average |
| Median | 26.4 s | Half of players are faster, half slower |
| Bottom 25% | 35.5 s | Slower than average |
| Bottom 10% | 47.3 s | Slow, often a first try |
Where does your time land?
| Your best time | Share of players you beat |
|---|---|
| Under 12 s | About 99% |
| Under 15 s | About 95% |
| Under 20 s | About 79% |
| Under 25 s | About 56% |
| Under 30 s | About 38% |
| Under 40 s | About 18% |
So a best of 22 seconds is clearly above average, and anything under 15 seconds is rare.
What changes your time
- Mistakes cost a lot. Each wrong tap adds 2 seconds, so a single slip can push a 19-second run past 21.
- Search strategy. A common approach is to keep your eyes near the center of the grid and use peripheral vision instead of scanning row by row.
- Practice on the same grid. Times usually drop quickly over the first few attempts as you learn the task, then level off.
- Device. A larger screen and a mouse make it easier to see and hit the right cell than a small phone.

How we calculated these numbers
- Data: best 5×5 times from 10,628 players on FreeFocusGames, March 8 to October 25, 2026, including the 2-second penalty for each mistake.
- Exclusions: times under 8 seconds (very likely not genuine) and over 120 seconds (usually an interrupted game). That left 10,560 players.
- Limits: players chose to play, use different devices, and each counts with their best time, so this is a practical benchmark for this grid, not a scientific population average.
